2nd Annual
“Dinner and a Show” Fundraiser
Featuring “Grease
Our Senior Year at Rydell has come to a close.  This year’s production of Grease went off with out a hitch.  Thank you to our supporters, sponsors and volunteers  who helped make this years’ event not only one of our most ambitious productions to date, but also one of our most successful fundraisers.

Through the support of our guests and event sponsors, Heavenly Horse Haven was able to raise over $2,400 for our rescue animals.   Many thanks to Hansen Beverage Company for donating all of the drinks for the event and to Hank Gonzales for donating all of the produce for the evening. We also had many prize baskets donated for our raffle drawing.  Be sure to check out the “event sponsors” side bar.

Our director and choreographer, Gina Perrin had her hands full this production as the show featured no less than 14 horses and riders (with as many as 12 of them performing in the arena at the same time!)  This was in addition to a cow, three llamas, a goat and everyone’s favorite pig, Rootie.  The many hours of practice over the last five months really paid off.  Of special note, many of the riders were beginning riders new to horseback riding and all but one of the horses were rescue horses or adopted rescue horses.  There were a few solo acts too.  Notably, Julie, who is working to bring Pony Club to Heavenly Horse Haven, put on a wonderful performance with Dream Diva and made riding one of our more challenging horses look easy.  We were also fortunate enough to have an outstanding support crew backstage to help with all of the horse/animal and costume changes.  And let’s not forget the costumes.  Cindy Davis, Martha Koukios, Marge Sanderson and Pat Hitchcock volunteered countless hours of sewing to create all of the costumes.

After the show everyone was treated to an excellent meat-loaf dinner that had people coming back for more. Those with a hankering for some good music were not disappointed.  We were once again fortunate enough to enjoy the musical styling’s of perennial crowd favorite, “Mark Huston and the Workin’ Men.”  We even had a special performance by our very own Craig Downey and Nikki .  Be sure to watch for an upcoming video slide show featuring their version of “Hopelessly Devoted to You”.
Speaking of video, Tim was kind enough to volunteer as our videographer while Mel Hitchcock, Rochelle Gregg and Nick captured the event with photographs.  Be sure to check out their work in the Grease dinner show gallery.  Thanks to John Koukios and Gordon Price for supplying the sound and video equipment.
