2011 Chili Cook-Off and Show Hello everyone! Our 2011 chili cook-off and a Disney show was a great success. After months of planing and then having to reschedule because of the longest, coldest, winter we had the event on July 30th. Thanks to Tim Dotta and his family they spent hours and hours creating back drops for the 9 scenes from different Disney classics. The day before the event Tim and volunteers set up the props so the horses would get a chance to get use to them, and here came the wind and light rain. During that night most of the props were knocked down from the strong wind. The day of the event started out hot and closer to the time when guest were to arrive the clouds started to roll in again. The nice thing about the clouds was that it cooled it off. The bad thing was the wind and very making it hard to get those props back up. It sprinkled for a short time and one of the props the price Ali castle was damaged but we were able to get the rest of them up with a short delay. The show was quit successful considering we didn't get a chance but one hour before to get the horses use to the props. We had three hundred people show up and all most thirty pots of chili to taste. Mark Houston and his band had to move into the hay barn but hey a little rain cant stop them from playing. I am so grateful to the ladies that sewed all the costumes and every one that got involved in this yearly production. Guess what we are all ready planing next years show. The wizard of oz. If you would like to ride or get involved with next years show please let us know. The more the merrier. This has been are most successful year adopting out 12 horses in the last couple of months and a verity of other farm and domestic animals. We have been taking in as many as possible but because of the price of feed and supplies all most doubling in the last six months, we will not be able to take in as many as last year. With your continued support and the support from grants such as the ASPCA, Brennan Equine Welfare Fund, After the Finish Line, the On Shore foundation and the Hind Foundation. We will do what we can to rescue as many animals as we can. Take a look at our new improved web site. There are several new residents for you to meet. Like Yankee the dwarfed Arabian colt and Jenna the pot bellied pig. Check for Updates on Valentine the rescued pregnant mare and our first born colt on the ranch Romeo.
